5.9 FENCING SCHOOLS

A character is considered Master or Master Superior of a fencing style when the character is a master of at least two of the weapons included in that style. For example, a character who wishes to a Master of French Style dueling could become a Master with the longsword and rapier.

A character who is a Master or Master Superior of three fencing styles, or two fencing styles and Polearms, may become a member of the Académie d'Armes, the royal fencing guild. A character who wishes to be a member of the fencing guild must successfully petition the King for entry, at the discretion of the Gamemaster. Guild fencing Masters often find placement in the households of high-ranking members of the nobility or even the royal family.
