    1. I found this ages ago, and in my notes it says Treasure Island, but I'm not sure that's correct.

  2. Not Hornblower and Napolean, but General Washington and the short lad is a son of Colonel Markham.

    The title of the painting appears to be 'What is your name, my boy?'

    Which seems to be from a story in the Children's Book of Patriotic Stories: The Spirit of '76.
